We’re excited to share our 2025/26 training times for adults and juniors, starting week commencing 1st September, which provides increased training and pitch time to all members 13 and over. Adult training sessions are for those playing in our adult sides, and coaches and captains will speak with those junior players transitioning to adult hockey.
Tuesday evenings
17:45 - 18:30: Under 8s (Year 3 and below)
18:00 - 19:00 Under 10s (Year 5 and below)
18:00 - 19:30: Under 14s (Year 9 and below)
19:30-21:00: Men’s training
19:30-21:00: Ladies training
21:00-21:30: Men’s and ladies alternating
Thursday evenings
20:00 - 21:30: Team and skill specific sessions (details to be shared on a rolling basis)
These times respond to feedback received during the club survey and will also give us the opportunity to build the sense of our whole club community, a committee commitment.
It also shows our strong commitment to provide our junior players the best opportunity they can to transition into adult hockey, with both junior boys and girls being able to stay on to train with the adults once they are 13.
Our Thursday evening pitch booking remains, which will provide an opportunity to focus on other areas of the game. These are open sessions, and a monthly plan will be developed and communicated by the committee. For September, our planned use of this pitch booking is;
Thursday 4th - Short corners and clinic (coached skill session but captains to lead on routines)
Thursday 11th - Mixed team game
Thursday 18th - Goalscoring and goalkeeping - coached session
Thursday 25th - Final prep for the season (team captain led)
The committee will continue to work hard on delivering for members, and we hope that numbers at training increase with this refreshed approach.
We’re excited to see where these new times take us, and we’ll be communicating with the men’s, ladies and junior sections separately with further details about your sessions. As ever though, we’ll continue to listen and respond to feedback and views, and will welcome this as the season progresses.
